Britannia - the female warrior who is the emblem of Britain representing greatness for almost 2,000 years. 2017 was a double anniversary for the Britannia. In 1987, the first Britannia coins were struck in gold and in 1997, a silver edition was launched. Britannia celebrated 30 years for gold and 20 years for silver. 2021 brings another first from The Royal Mint, with two distinct designs. One in Standard Proof and the other in Premium Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated. Britannia continues to be reinterpreted each year to reflect the times and mood of the nation.
